Question

I had a math tutor who wanted to become muslim, but before so he passed away this sunday. Can I go to his funeral or Alla ta'ala said not to go to non muslim funeral. Cn I pray for him to go to Jannah?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

Respected sister, the jurists have stated that it is reprehensible (makrooh) for a young female to go to the graveyard of Muslims, let alone that of non-Muslims. So therefore, refrain from going to the funeral. And in the Quran, Allah Ta’ala has forbidden us to pray for non-Muslims (Quran 9:113).
