Is it Sunnah and Nafl to perform Jumuah?

Question

Today i was reading this article http://www.al-inaam.com/social/weakimaan.htm and when reach on this sentence

Sometimes perform salaah together with your husband and children so that they learn how to perform salaah and at the same time it brings your family closer together. Can you please explain me its for Nafil Salah and make Jamat or pray separetly.

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

In the case of a male, it is required for him to offer his Fardh Salah in the Masjid with Jamat, not at home. But, if for a valid reason he is not able to go to the Masjid then he can offer Fardh Salah in Jamat with his family.

As for the Nafl Salah, it must be prayed separately and not in Jamat. If in a situation where people are not specifically invited to offer the Nafl Salah in Jamat, it will be allowed for up to four people (including the Imam) to pray in Jamat. If the number increases to five or more, it is not permissable.

لا ( التطوع بجماعة خارج رمضان ) أي يكره ذلك على سبيل التداعي ، بأن يقتدي أربعة بواحد كما في الدرر ، ولا خلاف في صحة الاقتداء إذ لا مانع نهر

قال الامام ابن عابدين في حاشيته:

( قوله على سبيل التداعي ) هو أن يدعو بعضهم بعضا.

وفي وتر غيره وتطوع على سبيل التداعي مكروهة

قال الامام ابن عابدين في حاشيته:

( قوله على سبيل التداعي ) بأن يقتدي أربعة فأكثر بواحد

لتطوع بالجماعة إذا كان على سبيل التداعي يكره وفي الأصل للصدر الشهيد أما إذا صلوا بجماعة بغير أذان وإقامة في ناحية المسجد لا يكره وقال شمس الأئمة الحلواني إن كان سوى الإمام ثلاثة لا يكره بالاتفاق وفي الأربع اختلف المشايخ والأصح أنه يكره هكذا في الخلاصة

فالوتر كالتراويح فكما أن الجماعة فيها سنة فكذلك في الوتر ولو صلوا الوتر بجماعة في غير رمضان فهو صحيح مكروه كالتطوع في غير رمضان بجماعة وقيده في الكافي بأن يكون على سبيل التداعي أما لو اقتدى واحد بواحد أو اثنان بواحد لا يكره وإذا اقتدى ثلاثة بواحد اختلفوا فيه وإن اقتدى أربعة بواحد كره اتفاقا
