Please calculate the Zakaat for the following practical situatuion: House owing -R200000(R36000/annum), Car owing -R50000, Pension +R10000 if withdrawn, Cash +R15000, Furniture +R20000.
Question
I ask this general question to avoid confusion in the future. I understand that part of the question is already answered, but it is fragmented. Jazakallah
Answer
Assets = Pension R10,000; Cash R15,000; Personal furniture not Zakaatable = R25,000
Liabilities = House R36,000 per annum; Car R20,000 per annum (for example) = R56,000
Since the liabilities exceeds the assets, there is no Zakaat on the assets.
