Question

I have kept my daughter's name IFRA .please let me know the correct meaning of this name and also let me know if ifra is a good name.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The name Ifra in Arabic means to cut or slice with of a sword. It also has the meaning of repairing a cut or tear. Nonetheless, this is not a suitable name to keep. Therefore, choose a better name, like Fātima, Zaynab, ‘A’ishah etc.[1]
