Miscellaneous questions about wudu and ghusal

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Ø Rinsing the mouth thoroughly is sunnah in wudu,[1] and necessary in ghusl.[2]

Ø While doing masah (wiping) of the head during wudu, it is sunnah to clean the ears with ones pinky finger.[3] In ghusl it is necessary (fardh) to pass water through the inner earlobe.[4]

Ø Doing masah of 1/4 of the head is fardh (necessary) in wudu.[5] In ghusl the head has to be washed thoroughly.[6]
