Question

Is it permissible to perform Tahajjud Salat before Witr Salat?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

One may offer his Tahajjud Salat after Esha. However, the reward for Tahajjud increases if it is delayed until after half of the night has elapsed.[1]

Tahajjud Salat may be performed at anytime during this period regardless if one sleeps or did not sleep.

The Tahajjud Salat may be performed before the Witr Salat.[2]
