Earning money from teaching Quran?

Question

I would like to know whether it is permissible/prohibited/disliked to earn money through teaching the quran to others

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The teaching of the Quran as well as other acts of devotion should be done solely for the pleasure of Allah. However, it is permissible to teach the Quran and earn an income through that[1][2].

And Allah knows best.

وبعض مشايخنا استحسنوا الاستئجار على تعليم القرآن اليوم؛ لأنه ظهر التواني في الأمور الدينية. ففي الامتناع تضييع حفظ القرآن وعليه الفتوى.
