Question

Assalam Dear Imam Saheb,

May the mercy of Allah Ta'ala be upon you. Ameen.

Question:

My wife passed away 15 months ago. I wish to re-married. Kindly advise a du'a suitable for this action of mine. JazakumuLlahu khairan kasira. Wassalam.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

May Allah grant your wife Jannatul Firdaus. Aameen.

Recite the following dua:

Transliteration:

Allahumma Ajirni Fi Musibati Wakhlif Li Khayraam Minha

Translation:

O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better than it in exchange for it"

The background of this dua is when Hadhrat Abu Salama [Radhiallahu Anhu] passed away, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa- Sallam told Hadhrat Umme Salama [Radhiallahu Anha] to recite the above dua and Allah granted her Rasulullah (ﷺ) as her husband.[1]

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

Which du'as are there for marriage, rizq and needs?
