What is the Basis for Al-Mahdi being born in Madinah?

Question

Why is Al mahdi must be born in medinah? where in hadist, it doesnt say about it.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The affiliation to the city of Madinah is among the descriptions of Imam Mahdi found in ahadith. Consider the following haidth.

Translation: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Disagreement will occur at the death of a caliph and a man of the people of Medina will come flying forth to Mecca. Some of the people of Mecca will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Mecca and Medina. When the people see that, the eminent saints of Syria and the best people of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. Then there will arise a man of Quraysh whose maternal uncles belong to Kalb and send against them an expeditionary force which will be overcome by them, and that is the expedition of Kalb. Disappointed will be the one who does not receive the booty of Kalb. He will divide the property, and will govern the people by the Sunnah of their Prophet (ﷺ) and establish Islam on Earth. He will remain seven years, then die, and the Muslims will pray over him. (Abu Dawud: 4286)

Madinah has also been mentioned in hadith to be the birthplace of Imam Mahdi.

Translation: Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhu) has mentioned that Al Mahdi will be born in Madinah. He will from the family of the Prophet (Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam) and his name will be the name of his father. (Kitabul Fitan: 1073)

The above mentioned ahadith can be used as a basis to show that Imam Mahdi may emerge from Madinah.

عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: «الْمَهْدِيُّ مَوْلِدُهُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَاسْمُهُ اسْمُ أَبِي
