Question

Is it allowed to adress father-in-law or mother-in-law as father or mother? If not, then how should it be according to Shari'ah?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Shariah advises us to be kind and considerate to our in-laws.

One may refer and call his father-in-law and mother-in-law, father and mother out of respect and kindness.
