Answer

Allah Ta'ala says in the noble Qur'aan, 'O, you who believe, do not befriend my enemies .' (Surah 60:1)

It is Haraam for any female to unnecessarily converse with males other than her Mahrams. Similarly, using modern technology, via internet, etc. to communicate with Mahrams of the opposite gender is also prohibited.

Who are a woman's mahrams?

“This is not permissible. If the woman is not your mahram, then this is obviously haraam and if the woman is your mahram e.g. your mother or sister then too this is not permissible and is against the Islamic teachings.”
