Question

1.In India there is a practice among Hindu married women that they apply a red coloured powder (Sindoor) in there head.(in the line formed byy combing hairs). some muslims too practice this in some areas. is it permissible? even if they are practicing it occasionally and they dont follow any other custom of Hindus. Consider it that they apply it just for the sake to look beautiful and they dont have any belief behind it as Hindus have. 2. If a person is brought up by his elder brother as his parents has died at an early age. what will be the case with the amount spent on him by his brother? will he have to return that amount when he become self sufficient? what will be the case if the parents has left some property and when they had left nothing? 3 What is the difference between Deobandi and Barelvi fiqah prevailing in India.

Answer

1. Since it is a practice of Hindus, Muslim women should abstain from such adornment.

2. He will be highly reward in this case. If the parents left behind wealth, the elder brother may use part of it on the younger brother since the wealth belongs to the younger brother as well. However, if the parents left nothing behind and the youngster has not reached puberty and he has no wealth of his own, the elder brother should take care of him. Whatever the elder brother spends on the younger one, it is an act of great reward and favour. He cannot claim it from the younger brother in future.

3. Both follow the Hanafi Madhab. however, there are some differences in the beliefs of the 2 sects.
