Question

1) assalam alikum If my husband jokingly calls me sister, mother etc. is it going to effect my nikkah? He says these words really as a slang as a habit and after these words slips out of his mouth he normally says lahol wala quat. jazaak allah kahir

Answer

In principle, the resembling of a wife to the mother is called Zihaar.

Zihaar or liking one?s wife as a sister without the intention of divorce will not constitute divorce. Divorce will be effective with these words only if the husband utters them with the intention of separating.
