Is fidya compulsory on a person in coma?
Question
Is fidyah compulsory on behalf of the deceased who due to a coma could not fast and perform salaah?
Answer
It is not necessary to give Fidyah on behalf of the deceased. He was not in the position of performing Ibādah and since he was in a coma, fasting and Salāh were not obligatory on him.
Allah alone knows best.
