Sunnah cupping for females

Question

Can women go to other women for cupping? Are there any restrictions?

Answer

Sunnah cupping can be done for a female by another female or a Mahram male. There are no restrictions except that the cupping should be carried out in accordance to Sunnah and the Satr shouldn’t be exposed unnecessarily.

عورتوں کے لئے بھی حجامہ لگوانا جائز ہے – اور ان کو چاہے کہ حجامہ عورتوں سے ہی لگوائیں یا اپنے محرم مردوں میں سے کسی سے لگوالیں (الحجامة ص۶۱)

عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ، اسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحِجَامَةِ «فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا طَيْبَةَ أَنْ يَحْجُمَهَا» قَالَ: حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: كَانَ أَخَاهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ، أَوْ غُلَامًا لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ (صحيح مسلم – رقم 2206)
