Question

A person has health issues and wants to correct his eating habits through hypnosis. Will this be permissible?

Answer

Hypnosis is an unnatural means of acquiring cure for illnesses, and many of these types of treatments border on wrong beliefs. Hence, we advise abstention. If you would like to control your eating habits, then you could consider intermittent fasting.

Umm Salamah Radiallahu Anha narrated that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Allah did not make your cure in such things that He made Haraam (unlawful) upon you.”
