· 21 Shawwal 1440 AH1 min readEnglish

Question

If a woman has enough money to pay for herself and gets accredited for haj is it fard on her wali to accompany her even though he had made haj if he has financial means to do so but refuses ?

Answer

A.In the enquired situation, if the woman in reference has a Mahram/Wali who is capable of accompanying her to go for Hajj, he should do so. However, it will not be compulsory on him to do so.

If her Mahram/Wali does not have the capacity to accompany her to go for Hajj, she should arrange with another Mahram who can accompany her. If she does not have a Mahram who can accompany her, Hajj will not be Fardh on her.
