Question

Q. How is Qaza e Umri supposed to be performed? I don’t no how mny salaahs I’ve missed over the years. So how do I read Qaza e Umri? Also I dnt think I’ve missed any rozas but I may hve broken as a child. How do I keep Qaza of these fasts or rather what intention should I mke?

Answer

If you cannot recall how many Salaah you have missed, you have to calculate and estimate a number to the best of your ability. Once you have finalised a number you will have to work towards fulfilling the Qadha of that number.

You will make intention before every Salaah that I am making Qadha of the first (Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, etc. dependent on the Salaah you are reading) missed. You will make this same intention for every Qadha Salaah, as when one is completed the next in line becomes the first.

There is no Qadha for Salaah or Fasts missed or broken as a child. Only those fasts and Salaah are accountable which were missed after you became baaligh.
