Is it permissible to undergo a hair transplant for one who is bald?
Question
Is it permissible to undergo a hair transplant for one who is bald?
Answer
A hair transplant entails the restoration of hair by redistributing hair from areas of high density to bald areas. It does not involve distortion or disfiguration of the human body which is prohibited in Shariah.
Therefore, it would be permissible for one to undergo a hair transplant if there is a need for it whereby a person experiences psychological or social difficulties due to baldness.
