Question

Q. I purchased some sheep 6 months ago for Qurbani and one has now given birth. What should I do with the sheep and lamb?

Answer

If an animal purchased for Qurbani gives birth before it’s slaughter, it is best to give the live new born in charity. Alternately, the new born animal should be slaughtered and the meat given in charity. The sheep that gave birth can still be used for Qurbani. (ad-Durrul Mukhtar, Vol: 6, Pg: 322, Darul Fikr)
