Circumcision for a Revert?

Q. I would like to know if circimcision is compulsory for a revert. A christian man has reverted to Islam and is due to make nikah shortly. Is he compelled to be circumcised as a requirement of now being Muslim?
Answer
Circumcision is not compulsory although emphasized. If the person feels that it will be a painful experience for him, he will not be sinful or blameworthy for not doing circumcision.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
