Female Facility in the Masjid Complex
Question
From a shari perspective is it permissible to have/or not to have a female facility in the masjid complex
Answer
As salām ʿalaikum wa raḥmatullāhī wa barakātuhu
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
There is a genuine need to have a safe, protected, and private space for females within a Masjid complex. This space should have an allocated separate entrance away from the entrance and space of the males.
Keeping the aforementioned in mind, it will be permissible to have a separate female facility in the Masjid complex to cater for travellers, programs, and classes.
And Allāh Taʿālā knows best.
Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
