Question

I have two questions I want you to help me with. May Allah Ta'ala grant you the ability.

1. I want to know how to perform istighfaar Salaah with full details.

2. And also, are there any particular Surahs to be recited or any particular prayers to be performed for one to get married soon? They have been searching for a good groom for me for the past one year but nothing is become finalized and is failing for some reason or other. I don't know why but Allah knows best.

Answer

1. One should perform two rakaats nafil Salaah with the niyyat of Salaatut Tawbah. After Salaam one should sincerely seek forgiveness from Allah Ta'ala for the sin one has committed. Taubah has three basic elements: (1) To discharge all past obligations, be it to Allah Ta'ala or to people. (2) To resolve never to commit those sins again. (3) To express remorse for the wrongs that have been committed.

2. Recite the following dua after your five daily Salaah. May Allah Ta'ala bless you with a pious suitable spouse.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
