Gifts and sadaqah
Question
Is it more rewarding to buy gifts for one's family or to spend that money in sadaqah? (for the person who can't afford to do both)?
Answer
This depends upon need. If there is a greater need to spend in sadaqah then you should spend in sadaqah and also spend something less upon the family.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
