Question

A lady passed away and her family remained as follows: A mother, 6 siblings, a husband, a son from her previous marriage - her husband also had two sons from his previous marriage - however the lady and her husband did not have any of their own children. How will her estate be distributed?

Answer

Her heirs in this case will be her mother, her son and the present husband. The estate will be divided into 12 equal shares and distributed as follows:

Mother will receive 2 shares

Husband will receive 3 shares

Son will receive 7 shares

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
