Revoking the talaaq issued via a text message

Question

I had an argument with my wife while texting and gave her one talaaq, we are together again, this is really bothering me and I wanted to know if we make Nikaah again, will it be three left and more importantly are we allowed to make this nikaah?

Answer

If you had given one revocable talaaq via a text message, then the talaaq is valid. You only have two talaaqs remaining. Since you have taken your wife back in your nikaah before the iddat period ended, a new nikaah will not have to be performed.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
