Growing the beard up to the chest

Question

1. Can I grow my beard up to my chest. Would it be better to grow upto the chest or only one fist.

2. Which colour safa is sunnat?

Answer

It is sunnah to grow the beard till one fist.

If through the word Safa you intend turban, then tying the turban is a mubarak Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). ِAmong the colours of the turbans that is reported from Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and the Sahaabah are black, white, green and yellow.

And Allah Ta'ala knows best.

رقم5892 - عن ابن عمر عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال خالفوا المشركين وفروا اللحى وأحفوا الشوارب وكان ابن عمر إذا حج أو اعتمر قبض على لحيته فما فضل أخذه (بخاري)

حدثنا سليمان بن حرب ، قال : حدثنا جرير بن حازم ، عن يعلى بن حكيم ، عن سليمان بن أبي عبد الله ، قال : أدركت المهاجرين الأولين يعتمون بعمائم كرابيس سود ، وبيض ، وحمر ، وخضر ، وصفر ، يضع أحدهم العمامة على رأسه ، ويضع القلنسوة فوقها ، ثم يدير العمامة هكذا ، يعني على كوره ، لا يخرجها من تحت ذقنه.
