What is pride?

Question

I want to know about pride in our actions and in heart. What exactly it is and how to make istaghfaar and please tell me any easy dua for it. Can we read the last part of third kalima?

Answer

To entertain the thought that you are superior to others on account of your own personal achievement. Similarly to look down and despise others.

Istighfaar is to beg Allah Ta`ala's forgiveness for the sins committed with extreme remorse and a firm resolve never to do it again.

Astaghfirullaha min kulli zambin wa atoobu ilayh.

Yes.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
