Spending on one's family on the day of Aashura

Question

Is it permissible to eat meat or chicken or any type of delicious food on the 10th of Muhrram?

Answer

Yes. The Hadith encourages one to spend on one's family on the day of Aashura.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radiyallahu anahu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Whoever spends freely upon his family on the day of Aashura, Allah Ta`ala will bless him with abundant sustenance for an entire year.”

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
