Is it permissible for one to purchase a grave for oneself before one's death?
Answer
Yes it is permissible.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

ويحفر قبرا لنفسه وقيل يكره والذي ينبغي أن لا يكره تهيئة نحو الكفن بخلاف القبر
قوله ( ويحفر قبرا لنفسه ) في بعض النسخ وبحفر قبر لنفسه على أن لفظة حفر مصدر مجرور بالباء مضاف إلى قبر أي ولا بأس به وفي التاترخانية لا بأس به ويؤجر عليه هكذا عمل عمر بن عبد العزيز والربيع بن خيثم وغيرهما اه قوله ( والذي ينبغي الخ ) كذا قاله في شرح المنية وقال لأن الحاجة إليه متحققة غالبا بخلاف القبر لقوله تعالى ( وما تدري نفس بأي أرض تموت ) (الدر المختار 2/ 244)
