Joining a second jamaat of musaafirs for Asr Salaah
Question
I went to a musjid late, when asr namaaz was over. However, I noticed a second jamaat taking place in the sehen,so I joined it. I got the last rakaat. So after salaam I completed my 3 rakaats. Now, after a few days, I discovered that the jamaat namaaz which took place was by musaafirs, so they read 2 rakaats, and I completed 3 rakaats, what is the condition of my namaaz?
Answer
Your namaaz is valid.
Q: What I forgot to mention is I also happened to be a musaafir at that time, now what will the masla be?
A: Your namaaz is done. If you had done this by mistake you should have done sajdah-e-sahw at the completion of the namaaz. If you had forgotten to do sajdah-e-sahw you should have repeated the namaaz within the time. Now that the time has expired, the namaaz does not have to be repeated.

( وصح اقتداء المقيم بالمسافر في الوقت وبعده فإذا قام ) المقيم ( إلى الإتمام لا يقرأ ) ولا يسجد للسهو ( في الأصح ) لأنه كاللاحق (الدر المختار 2/ 129)

قال الشامي في رد المحتار: المطلب صلاة أديت مع كراهة التحريم تجب إعادتها قوله ( وكذا كل صلاة الخ ) الظاهر أنه يشمل نحو مدافعة الأخبثين مما لم يوجب سجودا أصلا وأن النقص إذا دخل في صلاة الإمام ولم يجبر وجبت الإعادة على المقتدي أيضا وأنه يستثنى منه الجمعة والعيد إذا أديت مع كراهة التحريم إلا إذا أعادها الإمام والقوم جميعا فليراجع ح
تنبيه: قيد في البحر في باب قضاء الفوائت وجوب الإعادة في أداء الصلاة مع كراهة التحريم بما قبل خروج الوقت أما بعده فتستحب (رد المحتار1/ 457)
