Question

My husband gave me only one written divorce (not 3) 3 years back in dubai. After that he realized and made rujoo. I don’t remember after how many days, as I am Sunni Muslim and my husband is Shia, our beliefs are different. I have heard so many times that if a person gave one time divorce and make rujoo (intercourse) then the marriage will continue, I want to know do I have to make any iddat at that time, we don’t know, but if there would be any iddat time then what will I do, do I have to give kuffara? We now moved to Canada one year back from dubai. I will be very thankful as I am very confuse about iddat.

Answer

The marriage between sunnis and shias is not right. It is compulsory for you to break away from him.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
