Purchasing a ticket to enter into a competition
Question
The duty-free section of certain airports sells tickets. I want to buy a ticket with the intention that if I win, I will give the money to needy people. Is this permissible?
Answer
If it is a ticket to enter into a competition and you have a chance to win a prize then this is a type of gambling.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
