Bleeding two weeks after nifaas

Question

I have a question regarding menstruation. I had post natal bleeding for 40 days. Thereafter I performed ghusl and resumed my prayers. 2 weeks later I began bleeding again. Is this bleeding regarded as my period? Should or should I not perform salaah?

Answer

After nifaas, there should be at least fifteen days of purity before the next haiz. Hence, the bleeding experienced before the passing of fifteen days will be regarded as istihaaza.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

How long is nifaas (post-natal bleeding)?

“There is no restriction where a female in Nifaas should not emerge from the room as she is Napaak. She is permitted to carry out all her household chores as per norma,l as long as it is with the limits of Shariah.”
