Question

If a wife demands for haq mehr and husband did not deny to give it to her but because of financial reasons or any other reason did not give her the haq mehr, does this invalidate their nikah ?

Answer

No, the nikaah will not break. However, mahr is the haq of the wife. It is compulsory upon the husband to give her the mahr.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
