Soy Sauce

Question

I have recently found out naturally brewed Soy Sauce contains alcohol. I am confused as I don't believe Soy Sauce is an intoxicant, however there are fatwas saying it is Halal and people saying it is Haram. Can you advise?

Answer

If it is proven that it is an intoxicant then intoxicants are not halaal.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
