Question

What is the procedure of being a witness for your sister/daughters nikah? Also, does the mehr have to be given at the time of the nikah or can it be given before or after? Does it have to be given physically? Would it just suffice if it was just stated?

Answer

There needs to be a minimum of two Muslim males to be present and witness the iejaab and qabool (solemnising) of the nikaah.

Both ways are permissible.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
