Question

Can Sajdah Tilaawat be made from a sitting position or does one need to stand up and then go into sajdah?

Answer

Sajdah Tilaawat can be made from a sitting position.

وركنها السجود أو بدله كركوع مصل وإيماء مريض وراكب ( وهي سجدة بين تكبيرتين ) مسنونتين جهرا وبين قيامين مستحبين ( بلا رفع يد وتشهد وسلام وفيها تسبيح السجود ) في الأصح. (الدر المختار 2/106)

وفي السيد ويندب أن يقوم ويخر ساجدا ولو كان عليه سجدات كثيرة ويستحب إذا فرغ منها أن يقوم اهـ ملخصا (حاشية الطحطاوي على مراقي الفلاح صــ 498)
