Adjusting the amount in an invoice
Question
I work in a construction company and I’m responsible for selling the scrap from the workshop. However, when I sell the scrap for e.g. $2000, I keep $100 for myself and make an invoice for $1900 and submit it to the accounts department. Is this considered haraam?
Answer
This is deception and cheating. Hence, refrain from this haraam.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
