Celebrating birthdays
Question
I want to ask regarding celebrating family kids birthday parties. My in laws are not very religious so if someone's kid in their family celebrates a birthday party or celebrates a birthday party at home, what should I do?
I tell them that birthdays are not allowed in Islam and they even say "yes we know, we just doing it to keep the kids happy they can get toys or clothes on this occasion". If I don't go then my husband and in laws get upset and they tell me that I am not part of the family.
Answer
Make them understand that you are not part of the family in things that are not right.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
