Question

Is swallowing one's own blood from a cut equivalent to eating haram?

Answer

Swallowing blood is haraam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

(ودم) مسفوح من سائر الحيوانات إلا دم شهيد ما دام عليه وما بقي في لحم مهزول وعروق وكبد وطحال وقلب وما لم يسل، ودم سمك وقمل وبرغوث وبق. زاد في السراج وكتان وهي كما في القاموس كرمان: دويبة حمراء لساعة، فالمستثنى اثنا عشر.(الدر المختار 1/319)

إنّما حرّم عليكم الميتة والدّم ولحم الخنزير وما أهلّ به لغير اللّه فمن اضطرّ غير باغ ولا عاد فلا إثم عليه إنّ اللّه غفور رحيم (البقرة: 173)
