Can I just keep three fasts instead?

Question

I broke my oath. I know that I have to give the kaffaarah and I have the means. But I can't find any poor Muslims around me and I hardly know who to give it to. And also I can't just go out to find 10 people to give it to. Can I just keep three fasts instead?

Answer

Since you have the means to discharge the kafaarah, you cannot fast. When you find people who are poor, then give the money to them.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
