How do I know that I am on the right track in my life?

Answer

Always remain in pious company so that you are not tempted towards sin and ensure that you adopt taqwa (the fear of Allah Ta'ala) and follow the sunnah in all facets of your life.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
