Question

What is the ruling regarding bungee jumping and sky diving?

Answer

Muslims are not supposed to be wasting their precious time in these types of activities that are done merely for show, publicity and hardly have any type of real benefit.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من حسن إسلام المرء تركه ما لا يعنيه

(الترغيب والترهيب للمنذري، الرقم: 4370، وقال المنذري: رواه الترمذي وقال حديث غريب قال الحافظ رواته ثقات إلا قرة بن حيويل ففيه خلاف وقال ابن عبد البر النمري هو محفوظ عن الزهري بهذا الإسناد من رواية الثقات انتهى فعلى هذا يكون إسناده حسنا لكن قال جماعة من الأئمة الصواب أنه عن علي بن حسين عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مرسل كذا قال أحمد وابن معين والبخاري وغيرهم وهكذا رواه مالك عن الزهري عن علي بن حسين ورواه الترمذي أيضا عن قتيبة عن مالك به وقال وهذا عندنا أصح من حديث أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة والله أعلم)
