Receiving a profit share from a FNB savings pocket account
Question
I have an Fnb Islamic cheque account which has with it a savings pocket account. Every month, depending on how much is in my savings pocket, I receive a profit share. Is this profit share amount permissible to use?
Answer
Based on the understanding that we have of how banks operate we are not at all clear that their operation is halaal. It is safest to give away the profits in charity without the niyyat of thawaab.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
