Question

Can you please clear my doubts. The Quraan was sent down in Arabic to Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), so was there a chance that the verses of the Quraan were misunderstood by the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) and the Arabs during the time of revelation?

Answer

The way of the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) was that if they did not fully understand a verse or hadeeth then they would refer it to a senior Sahaabi or to Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) himself. It was not their way to take chances in these matters.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
