Looking at the moon and shooting stars

Question

1. I wanted to know if it's permissible to look at the moon, as I heard something along the lines that one should not look at it because something regarding shaytaan.

2. Also, is it permissible to look at the shooting star, and if not, what's the reason?

Answer

1. It is permissible.

2. Yes. A shooting star is moreover a type of a missile that is shot against the evil shaytaan. And a punishment is not an entertainment, rather it is so that we may take heed and refrain from the disobedience of Allah Ta`ala.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
