Question

Is it permissible to say that Allah is on His Throne according to his Majesty?

Answer

To speak about the sifaat of Allah Ta`ala in a way that creates doubts and confusion is not permissible. Istiwaa is a sifat of Allah Ta`ala and the sifaat of Allah are all qadeem. Everything besides Allah is haadith including the arsh. And that which is qadeem is not subject to any type of change. Hence, to say that He is on the arsh, will not be in keeping with the sifate qadeem of Allah that is unchangeable.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
