Superstitious beliefs

Question

My mum is always telling us about things that brings about poverty. Eg: looking at shoes that are turned up; leaving dishes unwashed in the basin and the list is endless. Is there any truth in this?

Answer

These things are nothing but superstition and superstition has no basis in Shari'ah.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
