· 12 Muharram 1444 AH1 min readEnglish

Question

Due to being unwell, a person performs Salaah sitting on a chair:

1. In such a case, how does he perform the ruku and sajda? Does he lower only his head OR his entire upper body?

2. For the sajdah, does he have to extend his hands further than his knees, creating a "place of sajdah"?

Answer

1. The entire upper body will move, unless he is unable to do so.

2. No.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
